How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox is one of the most popular anti-aging injectables available on the market today – and for good reason.

A single Botox session can help smooth away moderate frown lines and wrinkles, as well as reduce the appearance of crow’s feet (those annoying wrinkles around the eyes). And that’s not all Botox can do: clinical trials have shown that Botox is effective at reducing migraines, and can even help put a stop to excessive underarm sweating!

This FDA-approved injection seems like it can do it all, which is likely why many of our clients come to their Botox consultations with the following question:

“How long does Botox last?”

*Individual results may vary

How Long Will My Botox Results Last?

The duration of Botox results varies from client to client, so your Botox results may last a different length than someone you know who has received it before.

However, it’s estimated that Botox results can last up to four months, with some clients able to see results for about six months before needing another treatment. The more you undergo Botox treatments, the longer your results may last, with a peak at six months.

How Often Should I Get Botox?

If you want to maintain consistent results, we recommend getting Botox every three to four months, or whenever you start to see your forehead lines return.

You can also opt to get Botox whenever you want to smooth away forehead lines and wrinkles, even if it’s only for an upcoming event. If this sounds like you, it’s a good idea to get your Botox treatment about three weeks out from your big event.

How Can I Make My Botox Results Last Longer?

If you want to enjoy your smoother and younger-looking forehead for longer, we recommend the following steps:

  • Avoid rubbing your face for the first 48 hours after your Botox treatment, as this can cause the formula to spread out underneath your skin.
  • Move your facial muscles after your treatment to help the Botox settle in.
  • Wear sunscreen while outside, as sun damage is a leading cause of those forehead wrinkles you want to get rid of.
  • Get your Botox injection from a highly skilled injection specialist.
