Have you been noticing small red bumps appearing on your child's’ skin, and don’t know what they are?

Asset 1

If you’ve noticed the appearance of small, pearly-white bumps appearing on your child’s’ skin, they could have molluscum contagiosum. This skin condition common in pediatrics may appear worse than it actually is, but it can be a source of embarrassment for children, especially if the outbreaks occur in a visible area. It is also highly contagious and can lead to discomfort and secondary infections of the skin.

Molluscum is easy to diagnose but may require unique treatments to minimize these small, red bumps. At Twin Ports Dermatology, we offer diagnosis and treatment for patients who want to get rid of their molluscum bumps.

What Treatment Options Are Available for Molluscum Contagiosum?

There are different approaches that can be taken to minimize bumps caused by molluscum contagiosum, including:

  • Topical medications
  • Cryosurgery

Our dermatology providers will help you pick the right solution for your specific molluscum contagiosum needs.
