How Does Restylane Work?
Restylane uses a thick hyaluronic acid gel formula to simultaneously lift dermal tissue while encouraging long-term collagen production. Restylane is commonly used as a facial dermal filler and a lip augmentation injection, but it can also be used to treat volume loss and wrinkles on the hands.
Restylane is known for producing a more conservative result, so it’s an excellent choice for patients who may be a little nervous trying anti-aging injections for the first time.
Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane?
You’re a good candidate for Restylane fillers if you have facial volume loss, as well as moderate smile and marionette lines. Restylane is also a great anti-aging solution for thinning hand skin, as well as thinning lips.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
Restylane injections take about 30 minutes to perform, making it a convenient dermal filler for even the busiest of clients to incorporate.
What Results Will I See?

Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with injections, although some patients do experience minor swelling and slight bruising at the treated site.
- Avoid taking aspirin, vitamin E, garlic, alcohol, Ginko Biloba, fish oil, or any blood thinners for 5 days before treatment as these can increase the risk for bruising.
- Avoid dental work or vaccinations 2 weeks before & after treatment.
- You may have some redness, swelling, and bruising that can last a few days post-treatment. However, most of this is mild. Most people return to work the next day and can cover most of this with makeup.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours.
- Wait 4-6 weeks after injection for any Med Spa service on the face.
