How Does Radiesse Work?
Radiesse uses calcium hydroxyapatite gel microspheres to instantly add volume where folds are most obvious. Your body eventually absorbs these harmless microspheres, which causes it to trigger accelerated collagen production. Over time, Radiesse can encourage your skin to act as its own filler, meaning you won’t be as dependent on injections to keep your youthful appearance.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
Your Radiesse injection should take no longer than 45 minutes.
What Results Will I See?
Radiesse results are visible within 48 hours; these results include increased volume in the cheeks and reduced facial folds and smile lines.
Is There Any Downtime?
After your filler injections, you can return to most daily activities such as work. You will be given specific instructions from your injector regarding what to avoid, such as strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and airplane travel. A few days after treatment, bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort are expected. Your injector will walk you through what to anticipate with your specific treatment.
- Avoid taking aspirin, vitamin E, garlic, alcohol, Ginko Biloba, fish oil, or any blood thinners for 5 days before treatment as these can increase the risk for bruising.
- Avoid dental work or vaccinations 2 weeks before & after treatment.
- You may have some redness, swelling, and bruising that can last a few days post-treatment. However, most of this is mild. Most people return to work the next day and can cover most of this with makeup.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours.
- Wait 4-6 weeks after injection for any Med Spa service on the face.
