What is the VI Body Peel?
Chemical peels are an effective and popular method for brightening, clarifying, and refreshing the skin on your face. Because we have thicker skin on the body than on the face, most chemical peels have little effect when used on the body. The VI Body Peel has been designed to address the body’s thicker skin. A VI Body Peel can treat:
- Hyperpigmentation
- Lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Acne and acne scarring
- Scars and stretch marks
Most commonly treated areas of the body include the chest and back, but this peel will work almost anywhere that you have these skin concerns.
HOW DO VI BODY PEELS WORK?
The VI Body Peel uses four different kinds of acids to work deeply on your skin without causing any discomfort:
- Lactic acid to purify and decrease pigmentation
- Mandelic acid to reduce oil production
- Glycolic acid to exfoliate surface skin cells
- Trichloroacetic acid to penetrate to the level of fine lines and acne scars
When applied to the skin almost anywhere on the body, these chemical peels begin to remove the dull, lifeless outer layers of skin. This also removes dead skin cells and other pore-clogging debris.
Many chemical peels will cause some burning, but the VI Body Peel only causes some mild tingling. The VI Body Peel works for almost all skin types and tones, and your provider can customize your treatment to meet your needs.

Am I a Good Candidate for VI Body Peels?
The VI Body Peel works for people of all skin tones and most skin types. If you have concerns about hyperpigmentation, acne, or other skin issues anywhere on your body, you might be a good candidate. Let your provider know if you have ever had any type of reaction to a chemical peel in the past.
What Results Will I See with VI Body Peels?
A typical VI Body Peel treatment takes about 15 to 45 minutes per session. You may need 2-4 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart) for optimal results. Your provider will guide you based on your goals.
What Results Will I See with RHA® Fillers?
Immediately after your treatment, your skin may look red or discolored, but this will fade quickly. Your skin may feel tight for a few days, and after about three days, it will begin to peel. Applying moisturizer as instructed will minimize the appearance of peeling. Within a week, you will finish peeling and can enjoy your clearer, brighter, smoother skin.
Is There Any Downtime with VI Body Peels?
You will have a few days of mild peeling, but this will not limit you from your usual activities. You will need to protect your healing skin from sun exposure and use the skin care products recommended by your provider.
