How Does Microneedling with PRP Work?
Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma works in two steps:
- A few teaspoons of blood will be drawn from your arm and placed in a centrifuge to separate platelets. After this stage, your platelets are added to a special growth-activating formula.
- The formula is added to our SkinPen device. This technology pushes the PRP formula through the dermal tissue via several tiny needlepoints.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
The total treatment takes about an hour to perform, which accounts for the blood collection, platelet separation, and microneedling process.
What Results Will I See?*
Results include rejuvenated skin, with minimized wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and more. You may need two to five microneedling treatments with PRP to see these results.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime, although you may experience some redness and slight swelling immediately after your treatment.
- Discontinue Retinol, scrubs, and acid products 1 week prior.
- Cannot do the treatment while on Accutane or 6 months after.
- Downtime varies from 2-10 days of redness and peeling. Any SkinPen treatment comes with a complimentary Post-Care Kit.
