Non-invasive body contouring has become an increasingly popular way to shape and slim problem areas from your double chin to your abdomen and thighs. It can get rid of your double chin in as little as one treatment and with little to no discomfort.
CoolSculpting® works by lowering the temperature until fat cells begin to freeze. This temperature does not affect skin or other tissues, but it damages the fat cell membranes. The body responds to these fat cells by filtering them away through the lymphatic system.
Kybella® is a unique injectable treatment that eliminates your double chin using a compound found in your own body. Deoxycholic acid is used in digestion to break down fats. Kybella® is a lab-synthesized version of this compound that breaks up fat under your chin.
When injected, Kybella® damages the targeted fat cells, causing your body to respond by filtering them away. Like CoolSculpting®, Kybella® results take up to three months to develop fully. Most people need a series of up to four treatments to achieve their desired results.

CoolSculpting® and Kybella® do not require any downtime. After CoolSculpting®, you may notice that your skin looks red and feels sensitive for a few hours to a few days. You may also experience some numbness or tingling. After Kybella®, you may notice bruising, swelling, and sensitivity in the area. The swelling will greatly improve after the first few days but can last a week or more.
Because Twin Ports Dermatology offers both options for double chin removal, you are most likely a candidate for at least one. Good candidates should have reasonable expectations and have no major health problems. Both treatments can provide excellent results, but only a consultation can determine which one will work best for you.
