Dr. Cameron West
Board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist
Cameron West, MD is a Board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist. Dr. West attended Sterling College, graduating with a degree in Biology. He subsequently attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, KS, where he also completed his internship in Medicine. After a research fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. West completed Dermatology residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center (Wreck ‘em Tech) in Lubbock, TX. Along the way, Dr. West also earned a master’s in business administration at Texas Tech. Upon completing Dermatology residency, Dr. West entered private practice in Minnesota and then in Kansas. He then decided to pursue additional training and was fortunate to complete a fellowship in Dermatopathology at ProPath in Dallas, TX.
Dr. West is passionate about all aspects of Dermatology and Dermatopathology, with particular interest in psoriasis, contact dermatitis, cutaneous lymphomas, and skin cancer prevention. Excited to be part of Twin Ports Dermatology again, Dr. West will serve primarily in his capacity as a Dermatopathologist, interpreting biopsy and excision specimens, while also serving as Physician Educator for the practice.
Outside of Dermatology, Dr. West loves to read, travel, spend time outdoors (practicing safe sun, of course) and spend time with his family.
Favorite Skin Care Tip: Protecting oneself from the sun with a broad-spectrum sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, and a broad-brimmed hat are the best approaches to decreasing the risk of skin cancer and preventing premature photoaging.
