How Does Juvederm® VOLUX® Work?
Juvederm® VOLUX® is an injectable treatment administered by our expert injector in order to shape your jawline. Many patients receive other fillers at the same time for comprehensive facial enhancement and rejuvenation. Our other Juvederm® filler options include Voluma® for the cheeks and Ultra XC for fuller lips.
Like other members of this dermal filler family, it uses hyaluronic acid, a compound found naturally in your skin. Hyaluronic acid is a popular skincare ingredient due to its hydrating, moisture-boosting properties. When injected, it boosts volume in the targeted area by attracting and holding onto water molecules for results that look and feel natural.
Am I a Good Candidate for Juvederm® VOLUX®?
Almost anyone over the age of 21 can enjoy the benefits of Juvederm® VOLUX®, although it is targeted toward those with moderate to severe loss of volume in this area due to aging, weight loss, or other factors. Good candidates should have reasonable expectations and goals.
Hyaluronic acid is the most popular dermal filler material and is safe for almost everyone. However, you should not have Juvederm® VOLUX® if you have an infection or active skin condition in the area.
How Long Does a Juvederm® VOLUX® Treatment Take?
A Juvederm® VOLUX® appointment is quick and convenient. The injections take as little as fifteen minutes to complete. Like other members of the family, this one contains lidocaine, an injectable numbing agent that makes each injection more comfortable than the one before. Your highly trained injector will ensure you know what to expect and provide you with the best possible experience.
What Results Will I See from Juvederm® VOLUX®?
You will usually see results almost immediately after your Juvederm® VOLUX® appointment, although they may continue to develop for a few days. You will notice an improvement in the shape and contour of your jawline, and many people experience a boost of confidence. Juvederm® VOLUX® results typically last about a year, although results can vary depending on your body’s response to the filler.
Is There Any Downtime After Juvederm® VOLUX®?
After your filler injections, you can return to most daily activities such as work. You will be given specific instructions from your injector regarding what to avoid, such as strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and airplane travel. A few days after treatment, bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort are expected. Your injector will walk you through what to anticipate with your specific treatment.
- Avoid taking aspirin, vitamin E, garlic, alcohol, Ginko Biloba, fish oil, or any blood thinners for five days before treatment as these can increase the risk for bruising.
- Avoid dental work or vaccinations two weeks before and after treatment.
- You may have some redness, swelling, and bruising that can last a few days post-treatment. However, most of this is mild. Most people return to work the next day and can cover any bruising with makeup.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours.
- Wait four to six weeks after injection for any Med Spa service on the face.
