PRF EZ Gel
Restore lost volume and enhance definition with nothing artificial
Some areas of the face need more than a light touch of rejuvenation: they need structure. PRF EZ Gel delivers a thicker, more concentrated form of platelet-rich fibrin, giving your provider a moldable, natural alternative to synthetic fillers for volumizing and restoring areas like the under-eyes, cheeks, and acne scars. At Twin Ports Dermatology, we use PRF EZ Gel to help Duluth patients achieve fuller, more refreshed results using nothing but their own blood.
How Does PRF EZ Gel Work?
PRF EZ Gel is a dense, gel-like concentration of platelet-rich fibrin, spun and processed to create a firmer consistency than traditional PRF or PRF Liquid. That added structure lets your provider shape and place it precisely, making it ideal for filling in hollows, softening scars, and restoring lost volume.
Once placed beneath the skin, PRF EZ Gel:
- Adds natural, moldable volume without synthetic materials
- Stimulates collagen production for lasting structural support
- Softens the look of acne scars and depressed areas
- Improves under-eye hollows and tear trough concerns
Because it’s derived entirely from your own blood, PRF EZ Gel carries minimal risk of allergic reaction and integrates naturally with your body’s own tissue.
Am I a Good Candidate for PRF EZ Gel?
PRF EZ Gel suits patients looking for natural volume restoration or scar improvement without synthetic filler. You may be a good candidate if you’re dealing with:
- Under-eye hollows or visible tear troughs
- Depressed or pitted acne scars
- Volume loss in the cheeks or temples
- A preference for an all-natural alternative to hyaluronic acid fillers
PRF EZ Gel tends to work best for patients with mild-to-moderate volume loss or scarring, since it builds results gradually rather than delivering the immediate, dramatic effect of synthetic fillers. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin, review your medical history, and confirm PRF EZ Gel aligns with your goals.
PRF EZ Gel | 3-Treatment Series
Achieve optimal results with a 3-treatment series and save $300! A series of three treatments offers maximum results, giving your skin a long-lasting boost. Most people love the results of their first treatment so much, they immediately schedule more!
How Long Does a Typical PRF EZ Gel Take?
Treatment takes place in a single office visit. Sessions typically run 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many areas need treatment. Because the gel holds its shape better than PRF Liquid, it works especially well for structural concerns rather than broad, diffuse rejuvenation.
What Results Will I See With PRF EZ Gel?
Because PRF EZ Gel relies on your body’s natural healing and collagen-building response, results develop gradually rather than all at once. Initial volume may appear within the first week or two, though this early fullness reflects some swelling. As that settles, true collagen-driven improvement continues to build over the following one to three months.
Results vary based on the area treated, the amount of gel used, and your individual healing response. Many patients see continued improvement for up to six months, with results lasting longer than synthetic fillers as your body incorporates the collagen framework. Periodic touch-up sessions can help maintain volume and structure over time.
Is There Any Downtime After PRF EZ Gel?
Downtime stays manageable since the treatment relies on fine needles and your body’s own materials rather than incisions or foreign substances.
- Minor swelling, redness, or bruising at injection sites, typically easing within a few days
- Minimal downtime, so most patients resume daily activities right away, though some prefer a day or two before social events
- Avoid touching or massaging treated areas for the first 24 hours
- Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure for about a day
- Hydrate! Drink at least 64 oz of water and eat a good snack before coming to prepare for the blood draw.
- Take 2000 mg of Vitamin C daily before your treatment. The earlier you start, the better!
- Avoid Omega-3s, Turmeric, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and Garlic Supplements for 7 days prior.
- To lessen your chance of irritation & redness, pause the use of Retinol and exfoliating acids 3 days before your treatment and for 3 days after.
- If you develop a fever, cold, or flu symptoms, or develop a cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc., in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, you must reschedule (we will not treat you).
- If you have a special event or vacation coming up, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance (we prefer 3-4).
- Discontinue use of anti-inflammatory drugs (steroidal and non-steroidal) such as Aspirin, Motrin (or any other Ibuprofen drugs) at least 3 days to 1 week before your treatment. With PRF, we “want” inflammation; this is one of the mechanisms by which PRF does its work. If you are or have been on systemic use of corticosteroids (steroids) within 2 weeks of treatment, we cannot treat you. Consult your physician for approval to discontinue the use of steroids and receive treatment.
- Discontinue use of any other blood-thinning agents such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s and DHA’s), etc. at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising and bleeding.
- It is recommended that you avoid alcohol, caffeine, niacin supplements, spicy foods, and cigarettes 3 days before and after your treatment. All of these may increase the risk of bruising.
- You can return to your daily activities almost immediately.
- Do not touch, press, rub, or manipulate the treated area (s) for at least 8 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid blood thinners and NSAIDs for 2 weeks following your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising.
- If you experience discomfort or pain, you may take acetaminophen/Tylenol as directed.
- You may apply ice to the injected area for 20-30 minutes after the procedure for comfort.
- Do not wash or take a shower for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
- Do not use any lotions, creams, or make-up for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid vigorous exercise and sun and heat exposure for at least 3 days after your treatment.
- It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, soreness, and swelling that may last 3-14 days following your procedure.
- For optimal results, follow your product recommendations from your provider.
- Come well-hydrated and eat a snack or meal before arriving to avoid feeling lightheaded with the blood draw.
