HALO® TRIBRID Laser
HALO® TRIBRID Laser
A breakthrough in laser skin resurfacing
HALO® TRIBRID laser skin resurfacing is an advanced laser system that improves the look and quality of your skin. This treatment uses multiple laser wavelengths in a single session to address several skin concerns at once. It is customized to your unique skin needs to deliver noticeable improvements while controlling recovery time.
What is the HALO® TRIBRID Laser?
HALO® TRIBRID is the first 3‑in‑1 laser resurfacing system that combines three powerful wavelengths into a single handpiece. This design allows providers to treat different layers of the skin during one session.
The three wavelengths used in HALO® TRIBRID are:
- 2940 nm — a wavelength that performs controlled superficial ablation to refine texture and smooth surface irregularities.
- 1927 nm — a non‑ablative wavelength that targets superficial pigment and brightens the complexion without removing the skin’s surface.
- 1470 nm — a deeper penetrating wavelength that works in the dermis to improve tone, texture, and long‑term skin quality.
These wavelengths can be used independently or in combination. That flexibility allows treatments to be personalized for different skin types, concerns, and goals. For many patients, this means achieving benefits that previously required multiple separate treatments.
HALO® TRIBRID is designed to target common concerns such as:
- Texture irregularities
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven tone
- Sun damage
- Dark spots
- Dullness or tired-looking skin.
Twin Ports Dermatology is the only provider in the entire Northland area to offer this new laser technology. We are always at the forefront of advances in our field and excited to bring you the best new options.
How Does HALO® TRIBRID Work?
HALO® TRIBRID uses distinct laser wavelengths to treat multiple layers of the skin in one session. Each wavelength is engineered for a specific purpose and depth of penetration.
The 2940 nm wavelength focuses on the surface layer of the skin. It removes micro‑thin layers of damaged skin to improve surface texture and smooth roughness. It also accelerates the removal of microscopic epidermal debris to support faster healing.
The 1927 nm wavelength is non‑ablative, which means it does not remove the outermost skin layer. Instead, it targets superficial pigmentation and uneven tone. This helps enhance brightness and restore a more uniform skin tone without disrupting the surface of the skin.
The 1470 nm wavelength reaches deeper into the dermis. This helps stimulate collagen production and improve the structural quality of the skin. Over time, this deeper renewal supports improvements in tone, firmness, and overall skin health.
Providers can choose how to combine these wavelengths based on individual needs. Some patients may benefit from all three wavelengths in one session, while others may receive a more targeted combination.

Is There Any Downtime After HALO® TRIBRID?
Downtime after HALO® TRIBRID depends on the wavelengths used and the intensity of treatment. Most patients experience some degree of redness and swelling immediately after the session. These effects typically lessen within the first few days.
Common post‑treatment recovery experiences include:
- Redness and mild swelling lasting one to three days
- Flaking or peeling as the skin naturally renews itself over a few days to a week
- A feeling of tightness or warmth as the skin heals
Using non‑ablative wavelengths may result in shorter recovery, while deeper ablative treatment can require slightly longer healing. Sun protection and gentle skincare are important during recovery to support optimal results and protect sensitive, healing skin.
Most patients can return to normal daily activities within a few days, though recovery may vary based on individual response and treatment settings.
What Results Will I See With the HALO® TRIBRID Laser?
Results from HALO® TRIBRID appear gradually as the skin heals. Many patients notice smoother texture and increased radiance within a few days. Over the following weeks, further improvements in tone, clarity, and overall skin quality continue as collagen production increases.
Expected outcomes may include:
- Smoother, more even skin texture
- Brighter and more uniform tone
- Reduction in sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Enhanced firmness, resilience, and skin quality
Full results typically develop over two to four weeks. Some patients opt for maintenance treatments to extend and enhance results over time. HALO® TRIBRID delivers the benefits of multiple resurfacing approaches in one session, providing comprehensive rejuvenation with a customizable balance of results and downtime.
- Consult with esthetician for in-depth review of treatment process.
- Schedule treatment, accordingly, taking into consideration work and social schedule.
- Stop use of over-the-counter prescription retinol products 1 week prior to treatment.
- The treated area may be extremely warm for 12-24 hours after the treatment. Cold compresses may provide comfort during this time. The use of mineral water spray may help to provide some relief and moisture to the skin.
- Pinpoint Bleeding may occur. This can last for one to two days. Gently dab the skin with damp gauze to treat.
- Redness is normal and expected. Redness generally increases in intensity for the first few days after treatment, peaking on day three. Redness can persist for up to seven days. Allow skin to heal. Use gentle cleansers and keep skin moisturized and out of the sun.
- Days Immediately after treatment, swelling is common and expected. The use of a cold compress and antihistamines will help to relieve the swelling. Sleeping in an upright position may help minimize swelling. Swelling will be more prevalent the morning after treatment, specifically in the eyes, and may last two to four days.
- MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear on the treated skin two to three days after treatment as tiny dark spots with a bronzed appearance. Treated tissue is working its way out of the body as new fresh skin is regenerated. During this time, the skin is very dry and feels like sandpaper before flaking and peeling off. Keep skin well moisturized to support the healing process.
- The skin will be pink and dry up to 10 days after treatment.
- If you experience excessive swelling or any of the following signs of infection, you should contact the office immediately.
- Drainage – looks like pus
- Increased warmth at or around the treated area after 48 hours
- Fever of 101.5 of higher
- Extreme itching or pain
- Cleanse the skin two times a day with plain, lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Use your fingertips and a gentle patting motion. DO NOT rub, scrub, use an exfoliant or a skin care tool on the treated area.
- Moisturizer should be applied generously over treated areas and reapplied when the skin feels dry.
- Sunscreen is a MUST and should be used daily beginning the day of treatment and used consistently for up to three months post procedure. Use sunscreen with Broadband UVA and UVB protection and a SPF of 30. Reapply during sun exposure.
- If an anti-viral was prescribed for cold sore prevention, continue to take as directed.
- Make-up can typically be worn once the peeling process is complete.
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat or cover treated areas for two months post treatment to avoid blistering, scarring, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation.
- When showering, avoid getting shampoo directly on the treated area.
- Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for a minimum of 24-48 hours or until skin has healed.
- Avoid scratching and itching the skin, as scarring, infections and pigmentation complications can occur. Itching can be relieved by antihistamines such as Benadryl, Claritin, or Zyrtec.
