At Twin Ports Dermatology, we’re proud to offer PRP treatments for hair loss to our clients. PRP (which stands for platelet-rich plasma) is a hair restoration treatment that helps encourage thicker hair regrowth, all without the need for surgery or hair plugs.
PRP for hair loss works by using your body’s own platelets to reinvigorate hair follicle growth. Platelets have the ability to encourage healthy cellular renewal, so when introduced to areas where cellular growth is sluggish (like at the root of a hair follicle), it can help create healthy renewal.
The PRP procedure begins by separating platelets from a few teaspoons of your blood; once cleansed and added to a growth-activating serum, the platelets are injected into areas of the scalp where thinning hair is most obvious. There are no stitches or incisions required, and no obvious plugs. In fact, no one will know you’ve had hair treatments done – but they will know that you’re growing thicker, stronger, and healthier-looking hair!
