Laser hair removal damages hair follicles with thermal energy, which causes the hair to fall out, and the follicle stops growing new hair. However, the laser can only target follicles that are in their growth phase. Since your hair grows in three phases and the follicles are in different phases from each other, not all hair in a treatment area can be removed in one session.
We often recommend eight to ten sessions for optimal results. These will be scheduled one to two months apart to allow more hair follicles to enter the growth phase.
Laser hair removal is convenient and involves little to no discomfort. Each session takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. Our hair removal system features cooling technology to maintain a comfortable temperature on the skin during treatment.
You will not need any downtime after laser hair removal and can expect minimal side effects. Some patients have mild redness and swelling in the treated area for a few days. You’ll see some hair reduction after your first treatment, and this will improve with each session.
